Springfield Boulders Adopt a Crag – April 23, 2026

Springfield Boulders is a small bouldering crag located near Accotink Creek in Fairfax County. This urban crag is a popular spot for local boulderers.  We had our first event at Springfield Boulders in December of 2022 and have continued to have an event there every fall/winter. This will be our first spring season event there, and our fifth event overall! We will be focusing on glass cleanup and trash pickup. This is a weeknight event!

Please note that we have a maximum of 8 people at this event and you must be 18 or older to attend

Registration in advance is required – register here!

Schedule:

  • Registration + Waivers: 4:45pm
  • Project work: 5pm – 7pm

Where To Meet/How To Get There:

The parking is very limited! There is a pull-off on the side of Hooes Road that can hold approximately 10 vehicles. Please park perpendicular to the road, not parallel, to save spots for others. If you are coming from Hooes Road Park, the pull-off will be on your right side. GPS pin below:

Once we arrive, it is a short few minute walk along the side of the road from the parking pull-off to the crag.

What We’ll be Doing:

We will be moving a mattress that was left at the crag to the road for Fairfax Parks to pick up the following day. We will also be cleaning up glass shards below the main boulder and putting them into a thick container for proper disposal. We will pick up trash above the boulder, around the crag, and along the trail using trash picker tools, gloves, and trash bags (all provided by MAC).

What to Bring:

  • Working gloves, if you have them (we will provide if you don’t have your own).
  • Closed toed shoes
  • Long pants (no shorts!)
  • Long sleeves preferred
