When you think about DC climbing, images of the steep and difficult climbs over the Potomac River are some of the first things that come to mind. Great Falls is where many of the climbers in this area first learned to climb outside, and one of the busiest National Park units around. Join us and partners to celebrate our most iconic locations and give back to the Park, and thanks to East Outdoors for sponsoring this event! Please register below.

  • Registration: 8:30am
  • Project work: 9:00am-12:00 pm
  • Raffle and lunch provided by East Outdoors: 12:30 pm

What We’ll be Doing:

We will be working to repair or replace sections of the split rail fencing along the trails in the park.  We’ll also be addressing “pot holes” and other depressions along the gravel filled trails.  There will be a fair amount of carrying material from point A to point B with this event, but would should otherwise be lighter work; perhaps with the possibility of ending earlier to allow for more climbing!

NOTE: Be sure to register so we can add your name to the list we will be providing the park.  By doing so, you’ll be able to enter the park free of charge for this event.

Where To Meet/How To Get There:

Meet in the upper parking lot (climber lot) of Great Falls Park. Upon entering the park, take an immediate right turn.

What To Bring:

  • Closed toed shoes
  • Working gloves (if you have them)
  • Clothes you don’t mind getting dirty in
  • Water bottle
  • Snacks
