We have a unique event at Wolf Rock in Catoctin Mountain Park, MD! There is trash within the walls and crevices on the overlook (likely from people recreating above and dropping items) that the park wants removed. MAC will be setting anchors and we need volunteers to belay, climb, and rappel in order to retrieve the trash!

This will be a very physical event, requiring about a mile of hiking each way, climbing, and belaying (lots of standing time). We ask that volunteers be 18 or older, willing to hike on rocky terrain, be experienced with belaying, be comfortable with climbing outdoors, and bring their own harness, helmet, belay device, and climbing shoes. MAC will bring all other gear (anchor set ups, flash lights, ropes, first aid kit, Rocky Talkies) and a Catoctin park ranger will be supervising the event. This will be a very small sized event due to limited space and anchors; we will have a sign up limit of 8 volunteers (+4 MAC representatives, for a total of 12). Sign up early if you’re interested!

A light lunch and snacks will be provided. All volunteers will receive Rhino Skin wash & repair skin samples courtesy of our sponsor Rhino Skin! We will also have a raffle at the conclusion of the event with giveaways from Access Fund, Mom’s Organic Market (gift cards), and Rhino Skin.

Registration in advance is required – register here!
