As many of you may be aware, Great Falls Park has seen a significant outbreak of graffiti vandalism this season. Thankfully, the National Park Service is partnering with the climbing community to support multiple small cleanup events throughout the fall…and we need volunteers!
The NPS has agreed to facilitate volunteer cleanup events every week between now and the end of October. At the moment the cleanup events are planned for mid-week because of resource availability, weekend crowding at the park, and the desire to keep the events small and socially distanced.
If you have mid-week availability, and are willing to offer your time, please consider signing up for one (or more!) cleanup events!
Everyone must sign up ahead of time via the signup form, because it allows us to ensure that we have appropriate volunteer numbers, to plan each cleanup, and to keep track of volunteers for COVID-19 purposes. Please see the form for additional information about the cleanup process, what to bring, and what volunteers will be doing at the events.
