Northwest Branch Fall 2013 Adopt-a-Crag

Northwest Adopt-A-Crag 2012Northwest Branch is one of the Mid Atlantic’s hidden bouldering gems. Located just north of the DC beltway, this urban crag experiences a high volume of visitors and more than it’s fair share of litter and other environmental impact. MAC has been hosting Adopt A Crags here for more than five years, and is committed to preserving this resource for generations of climbers to come. For more information about Northwest Branch, check out our good friend Robin’s blog.

What We’ll be Doing:

nwb graffiti

We’re still working out the details on the trail work, but we’ll have a small group of people tackling the graffiti issue.

Graffiti

Earlier this Spring it was reported that some individual(s) painted over some of the graffiti at Northwest Branch.  While we appreciate the the desire to combat graffiti, covering it with more paint hurts climbers.  At this event, we’ll be working to remove as much of this as possible.
