Founded by Thomson Ling in 2002, DC Metro Climbing was focused on stewership events and access issues within Maryland & Virginia. Later in 2006 Thomson partnered with Ocean Eiler, this pair wanted to provide the DC climbing community with a source for climbing outreach, eduication & service projects.
Shortly after in 2007 a team was formed from climbers within the community that wanted to do more. Chris Irwin, Fred Wilson, Addison Helmke, Chris Lau along with Thomson Ling & Ocean Eiler founded Mid Atlantic Climbers (MAC).
Mid-Atlantic Climbers (MAC) is a grass-roots organization dedicated to ensuring responsible climbing and access in Greater Washington, DC. MAC endeavors to create a climbing community that will foster responsible recreation through outreach, education and service projects. |
